Workshops
BIO-SEE workshops provide condensed, 7-10 day training in different imaging modalities for non-local trainees. It includes multiple hands-on sessions, an exchange of experience and social programs to facilitate personal communication between the participants.
August 7-13, 2022 the BIO-SEE team organized a week-long workshop for a group from Georgia and Armenia. Eight trainees attended practical training sessions on laser scanning confocal microscopy, atomic force microscopy, cell staining, and hyperspectral imaging. On the last day a social program aimed at fostering personal connection was organized for both attendees and instructors at BIO-SEE. Feedback from participants indicated that the workshop was highly successful.
May 15-19, 2023 the BIO-SEE team organized a workshop for a group from Belarus. Eight trainees actively participated in practical training sessions covering various bioimaging techniques. The workshop comprised informative lectures delivered by Professors Narine Sarvazyan and Naira Ayvazyan, as well as hands-on training in laser scanning confocal microscopy, atomic force microscopy, and hyperspectral imaging. In addition, the workshop included live demonstrations of cell staining protocols and introductory session to ImageJ. The attendees were encouraged to share their previous research experiences and consider how their newly acquired knowledge could be applied to their ongoing and future projects. On the sixth day of the workshop, both the attendees and BIO-SEE instructors engaged in a social program aimed at fostering personal communication. The event was led by professors Narine Sarvazyan and Naira Ayvazyan, who delivered informative lectures on various topics. Participants also had the opportunity to engage in hands-on training sessions, where they learned to operate equipment such as laser scanning confocal microscopy, atomic force microscopy, and hyperspectral imaging. To further enhance the participants' skills, the workshop included live demonstrations of cell staining protocols and an introductory session on ImageJ. A discussion about how the attendees' newly acquired knowledge might be applied to ongoing and future research projects was encouraged. A social program designed to foster personal communication was conducted on the seventh day of the workshop for both attendees and BIO-SEE instructors.
